Creepy Carnivals
His Hideous Heart has 13 retellings of Edgar Allen Poe's tales and the 13 original works those retellings are based on. Several of these stories, both retellings and originals, take place during parties or festivals, so I'm using the book for the Creepy Carnivals square. The book has a wide range of stories, so different ones in it allow the books to fit for the Paint It Black, Film at 11 (many of the Edgar Allen Poe works included have been adapted), Amateur Sleuth, Serial/Spree Killer, Murder Most Foul, and Cryptozoologist squares on my card.
